1/1

Making traditionally is fiddly business. But "raw" vegan chocolate is a breeze. Plus there's no hidden sugar and only uses 5 ingredients (plus any toppings if you like.)

60g cacao butter, roughly chopped into chunks

1/2 cup cacao powder

4 Tbsp maple syrup

1 Tbsp coconut oil

1/2 tsp vanilla.

Toppings of choice: Nuts, seeds, dried fruit, shredded coconut, etc

(I used pistachios, goji berries, pumpkin seeds, and a little orange zest.)

  • Place a heatproof bowl on top a steamer basket above a pot of simmering boiled water. Melt the cacao butter, stirring continuously. Add the remaining ingredients and stir to dissolve the cacao powder.

  • Pour and spread evenly on a lined tray, sprinkle in toppings of choice (if any). Freeze for 30 minutes. Roughly snap and break the sheet apart. Keep refrigerated.
